Mark & I went to a conference over the weekend (really, it was 4 days from start to finish, so more than a weekend) and I feel like my head is spinning.  I’m processing and thinking and absorbing what we heard, how it applies to us, and what to do with the information – but it really feels like I’m soaking wet after trying to get a drink from an open fire hydrant.  All in all, this isn’t wholly bad, but it has left me with sort of a scrambled-brain for regular writing and life stuff.  I think I really just need to go to bed and get my bearings.

As an aside, American Airlines reminded me today why Southwest is my favourite carrier.  If I have any control over it in the future, I will not be flying American.  Continental did a fine job on our way out of Metro and got us to our destination in relative comfort with great customer service, but wow – today was miserable on American.  :(

Anyhow, I’ll be back at it this week as promised, with some thoughts on frugality, food storage, a recipe, and hopefully a video tutorial.

Right now, I need to go plan the menu and shopping list for the week, including trying some non-HFCS sodas.  Mark is interested in kicking his HFCS habit (something I fully support!), and he wants to try small quantities of real sugar-sweetened sodas.  So I need to start hunting for that.  If you have suggestions for that, please shoot me a note or comment – I’ve got a Trader Joe’s, a Whole Paycheck Foods, and some other larger grocery chains around me (Kroger, Meijer), but I’m unsure where to start.

The WF generic sodas are really quite good. We get them when we get pizza from WF (not often). I hear that Hansen’s sodas are good too and I think they carry them at TJ’s

Thanks, Bets! :) I’m happy to give Mark options and I think tomorrow is a day for many small stops – TJ, WF, and at least two others. But right now, I’m too tired to remember what they are. 😮 G’night!
