…that can only be filled with tickets to The Police reunion concert. 😉
Savvy music folk will recognize the title of this post as a song from “Outlandos d’Amour,” an early album from The Police (1978). And I have been a fan since the early 80s…at least, when I was old enough to recognize good music and embrace it. 😉
Okay, so in college I was a little more than a fan–I was obsessed. I admit it–I had cassettes of the original albums and copies of those cassettes because I’d heard that playing a cassette over and over *could* ruin it. Horrors! 😮 And so I ‘backed up’ my precious cassettes and listened to the copies and the originals intermittently so that I didn’t put too much wear and tear on one particular tape.
But that stage of my life is over…my cassettes are history. I don’t even have a way to play them anymore. And we’re digital around here, so I have the best of the best (in other words, my favourites) on the iPod and listen to them in the 80s and classic rock playlists. And although that obsessive-cassette-tape-collector is history, her love of the music and the chance to see these guys reunite in concert is simply too much to take.
Yes, I know they’re doing it for the money. Who cares? If they’re making great music again and the concert is fun, I don’t care WHY they are on tour. I’m going to make the most of it.
So if there are any other Police fans out there, you can check out tour dates at The Police Tour. So far, there are only a handful of dates posted (no advance ticket sales yet), and nothing in Michigan. But to my mind, it’s a virtual lock that they would come to The Palace or some other large-venue in the SE MI area…there are too many fans who would shell out money for tickets for them to pass us up. 😉.
