We have been waiting until our house-buyers close on their home-sale to announce that we are officially moving–the only contingency in our sale contract was the sale of their house. And that was completed today as expected. ๐Ÿ˜€

So we continue to pack and plan. Not having a house to move to (yet) and still having details to work out makes things a little more hectic for me, but we’re on track to complete box-packing by next Friday (12.1)–and the POD will be delivered on that day. Brendan and I will be in Indy visiting Wendy, Bri, and the kids, and we’ll return on 12.2 to complete the loading of the POD. We’ll close on 12.4 and begin The Nomadic Period of our lives. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We’ll stay with friends (thanks, E&J!) from 12.4 to 12.10, finalizing details of our time in Lexington. Mark will work out that week and we’ll see friends one last time for a while. We’ll go to the Christmas party at church on Saturday evening, and our final KidStuf production will be 12.10. And we’ll leave for MI after church on the 10th.

It’ll be a strange thing to be bivouac in the Basement de Brooks, but we’re grateful for the space to do so. :) I’m figuring that if I pack 8-9 outfits per person (in a laundry basket), I’ll just wash what we wear and we’ll rotate and get tired of wearing the same clothes for 3 weeks. And I think our Christmas gift from Mark’s parents will be an Aerobed that we can sleep on in the basement. Nette has a mattress for Brendan, and this way we can use the futon they have as a sofa and set up “house” down there. I will probably pack my scrapbooking stuff in the car as well–I’ll have several weeks with “spare time” that won’t encompass setting up a house of my own, so I might as well make good use of my time.

We’ll also continue The House Hunt–just when I think the options are severely limited, something new catches my eye and I shoot off another note to our realtor, Christine. Who has been a Godsend, by the way–she does walkthroughs with her camera for us and then we get to view the house as if we were walking through it ourselves. Oddly enough, though, two houses that we were leaning toward have now pretty much fallen off the list. And another that I thought Mark had wiped off of our list has been put back on. So we really don’t have a clue what we’ll buy, but we do know that we’ll continue to look and figure it out. :)

And then there’s the stuff I want to list on ebay. I’m going to get crackin’ on that one today–I’ve got pictures and just have to write descriptions and get the auctions up now. Just things that I don’t want to move and I’d rather sell than schlep to Dexter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m also compiling a list of places to call and set up service for the new owners and places I have to call to cancel service for us. So my head is spinning, but every time I come up with something new to do, I just jot it down and keep on packin’. Which is going smoothly so far. And for which I continue to hope that it goes smoothly in this next week. ๐Ÿ˜‰.
