I spent most of yesterday on my hands and knees…painting and staining the last of the woodwork in the house. We replaced the floor recently, which required replacing quarter-round in the kitchen and due to our mis-measurement, some naked baseboard in the great room. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ So yesterday I stained and painted the appropriate areas and while I was used to being hunched over on the floor, I decided the time was ripe to scrub the bathroom floor on my hands and knees, too. So my back is hurtin’ and reminding me that although I’m glad to have the work done, my body just isn’t as young as it used to be. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am so entirely impressed with Minwax Polyshades . We used Classic Oak in a high gloss finish to finish off the woodwork, and it looks spectacular. It’s easy to use (with a brush) and the end result is durable and beautiful. I’m no pro at applying varnishes and certainly don’t have a dust-free environment for application of varnish. So this stuff is perfect–one step with the stain and glossy finish done, and it looks like I actually know what I’m doing! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Today is reassembling the rest of the house and calling the real-estate agent; hopefully we’ll be able to meet up this weekend or right after the holiday. I’ll take either, truth be told.

And as one-half of the Evil Twins, I’m preparing for our one-day jaunt to Dayton. We’ll meet up with my Other Half (of the Evil Twins) and her kids–letting the kids swim in the hotel pool and watch DVDs while we have fun. :) Poor Mark won’t know what hit him–all that estrogen and our typical way of relating to each other. He’s often said that it’s hard to tell where one of us ends and the other begins. ๐Ÿ˜‰ So I want to have the stuff done before then and just know that we have one last project to do when we get back.

Over and out–more work to do!.
