Fall-like weather has descended on the Ohio Valley area. 😀 :::sigh::: I am in *heaven* these days! The windows are open, letting in a cool (sometimes chilly) breeze, the candles are lit in my fall-glass-pumpkins, and I’m snuggling in with my knitting and a cup of java in the morning and bouillion in the afternoon. Few things are more refreshing to me than this…even the dogwood leaves outside the front window is starting to turn crimson and drop some of its leaves. It seems weird when I analyze exactly how happy this weather-change makes me, but weird is how I’m going to remain. Even with my nutso-allergies, I prefer to have the windows open than closed. Mmmm….I think it only gets better from here (in terms of weather), unless we have some darned “Indian Summer” after I put away the summer clothes and pull out the winter gear. 😐
The house is finished. I have busted my hump around here and probably made Mark crazy in the process. But it’s done, and now it’s just maintaining the inside. That’s a challenge, with a 4 y/o mess-maker…why is it that everything he does, handles, has, or plays with ends up on the floor? Seriously. I remind him that picking up after himself is necessary if he wants to move (and he *does*–he tells me daily that we can move tomorrow!), and I’m probably becoming dangerously-close to a nag at this point, but as his male-genes have already surfaced (resplete with the ‘selective hearing loss’), saying it more than once seems necessary. 😮
We haven’t had any visits to the house yet, but I’m not worried. There were a grand-total of 3 calls to the real-estate office last week–for 24 agents. It’s been slow around here all the way around, but I anticipate things picking up soon. Now that the 9/11 anniversary is over and gas prices are dropping, there’s not any bad-economic-news in this area, and I think people will be poking around houses more in the upcoming weeks and months as thoughts turn to making a warm, cozy home for the holidays and wintertime. 😉
Time to get back to my knitting…and to enjoy the comfy, cozy little nest I’ve created around here. .
